COVID-19 Protection Framework

Safety is our number one priority! We have adopted new procedures in the facility to keep our members safe under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework (CPF). The CPF will adopt a 3 level “Traffic Light” approach to managing COVID-19 and involve the use of vaccine certificates.

WHAT DOES THE CPF MEAN FOR US?

  • In the Red or Orange settings, gyms that do not request proof of vaccination status will not be able to operate. To adapt to this, we will be updating our membership agreement to include a requirement for members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to access the Gym in Red and Orange.

  • In Green, gyms who do not request proof of vaccination status can operate with capacity restrictions.

HOW DOES THAT IMAPCT MY MEMBERSHIP?

  • Members who are vaccinated can access the gym at all levels.

  • Members who are not vaccinated, can only access the gym at Green and will have the option of pausing their membership while the region is at Orange or Red.

I AM VACCINATED, WHAT NEXT?

  • Under the new framework, you must present your “My Vaccine Pass” to staff to receive uninterrupted access to the gym at all levels.

  • We encourage members to download their My Vaccine Pass as soon as possible and present it to staff before the CPF comes into effect on 3 December 2021.

  • The easiest way to do this is to come in during open hours, so staff can verify your pass. If you will have trouble doing this, please contact us.

  • Staff will scan your My Vaccine Pass and this will be entered into our membership database. We will ask for permission to keep this information on file, so we only need to collect this information once.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO BE VACCINATED?

  • If you do not wish to be vaccinated against COVID-19, you can still access the gym at Green.

  • During Red and Orange, we can put your membership on hold. Please contact us directly and we will do this for you.

  • If you want to cancel your membership as a result of your choice to not be vaccinated against COVID-19, please send us an email directly and we will cancel your membership.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • Stay home if you are unwell

  • Wash or sanitise your hands before entering the gym

  • Bring and use a sweat towel every time you work out. You will be refused entry if you do not have one

  • Our policies will be printed outside and by swiping your key, this indicates you understand and will abide by our procedures. It also enables us to contract trace if required by the Ministry of Health

  • After entering, we may ask you to update your contact information to ensure we have up-to-date records, especially for longer-term members

  • Remember to be kind, others may be anxious due to the changes so please be respectful

CLEANING

  • Clean all equipment before and after using

  • Members will have access to cleaning equipment to be used throughout the workout

STAFF

  • Deep cleans and spot cleans will be conducted throughout the day

  • We will follow the Exercise Association of New Zealand’s framework to guide how we conduct deep cleans and spot cleans.

REQUIREMENTS AT ALL LEVELS

  • Scan your gym access key everytime you enter

  • Scan the COVID-19 QR code with the COVID-19 Tracer App upon entry

  • Maintain 1m social distancing

BATHROOM AND SHOWER

  • These will be available but the less you use them the better. We would encourage members to arrive in your gym gear and shower at home. This limits interaction the spread of germs

  • Members who use these will need to clean these before and after use. Spray bottles will be provided and signs within these areas will indicate what you need to do

All our procedures are based on Exercise NZ’s guidelines for best practice, which have been developed with Worksafe using the Ministry of Health’s protocols.
